Intake and camera choice
Discussion of use: driving only or parking mode too, front only or front and rear. Advice on resolution, storage and position per model.

Position and cable route
The camera goes behind the rear-view mirror, outside the field of view. The cable route is set along the headlining and the A-pillar, with attention to the airbags.
- 03
Removal and wiring
Trim and pillar panels are removed with plastic tools. For a rear camera the cable runs via the headlining to the rear window.
- 04
Hardwire and configuration
Connection to the fuse box with constant and switched power. Setting of parking mode, voltage cut-off and recording quality.

Final inspection and handover
Check of image, storage and panels. Explanation of the app or viewer and registration of the product warranty.
Parking mode
Recording even when the car is parked
Most damage to exclusive cars does not happen while driving, but in the car park. A hardwired dashcam with parking mode remains on standby and starts recording on impact or movement. Voltage monitoring switches the camera off as soon as the battery voltage drops below a set threshold, so the car always starts. That is essential for cars that stand still for several weeks. If a scratch does end up in the bumper, there is footage for the insurer and Spot Repair restores the panel locally.

The GT Exclusive Standard
Manufacturer's product warranty + 2-year installation warranty.
The camera manufacturer is responsible for the product, according to its own conditions. GT Exclusive is responsible for the installation for 2 years: wiring, power supply, mounting and the finishing of the panels. Two warranties, stated separately, so it is clear in advance who handles what.
What is an installed dashcam
An installed dashcam is a camera permanently connected to the car’s on-board network that records the traffic around the vehicle. The difference from a loose dashcam lies in the installation. No cable to the 12V socket, no suction cup on the windscreen, no camera that has to come off after every drive. The camera sits behind the rear-view mirror and starts automatically with the car. With parking mode the camera also remains active while the car is stationary.
How dashcam installation works
The installation begins with the position: behind the rear-view mirror, so the field of view stays clear and the camera is barely noticeable from inside. The cable runs behind the headlining and the A-pillar to the fuse box, with attention to the curtain airbag. There a hardwire kit is connected to a constant and a switched power supply. Warranty
An installed dashcam carries two separate warranties. The manufacturer provides the product warranty on the camera and the memory card, according to its own conditions. GT Exclusive provides a 2-year installation warranty on the installation: power supply, wiring, mounting and the refitting of all panels. What does having a dashcam installed cost?

Does parking mode drain the battery?
No, provided it is installed correctly. The hardwire kit has voltage monitoring that switches the camera off as soon as the battery voltage drops below a set threshold. We set that threshold to the vehicle. For cars that stand still for long periods we also advise a trickle charger, as with any exclusive car.
Is the dashcam visible after installation?
Barely. The camera sits behind the rear-view mirror, in the zone already covered by the mirror when seen from the driver's seat. The wiring runs behind the headlining and the A-pillar. From outside only a small lens is visible, from inside no cable at all.

Yes, using a dashcam is permitted in the Netherlands. Footage may be submitted as evidence to an insurer or the police. Sharing or publishing footage in which people or number plates are recognisable falls under Dutch privacy law and calls for restraint.
