Blu Eye Mirror Integration, with the display built into the rear-view mirror, costs from € 1,999. How it works

Detection, not eavesdropping

Emergency services in the Netherlands communicate via the C2000 network, based on the TETRA standard. Target Blu Eye 2 recognises the presence of that communication in the vicinity and gives a visual and audible alert. The content of the conversation remains encrypted and inaudible, the system only measures that a signal is present. That is why it also works with unmarked police vehicles, motorcycles and ambulances without sirens. The result is a calmer motorway drive and making room in good time. Owners who want the car delivered complete combine the installation with Premium Interior Detailing.

The GT Exclusive Standard

Integrated. Discreet. Performance-focused.

Target provides the manufacturer's warranty on the system. GT Exclusive provides the installation warranty on wiring, mounting and connection. Both are stated separately in the quotation, so in the event of a fault it is immediately clear who handles it and the owner is never caught between two parties.

What is Target Blu Eye

Target Blu Eye 2 is a detection system that signals the presence of emergency services in the vicinity. In the Netherlands, police, ambulance and fire brigade communicate via C2000, a network based on the TETRA standard. Blu Eye recognises that signal and warns with a light and a tone. It also works with unmarked vehicles without flashing lights. The system does not eavesdrop and decrypts nothing, which is why it is legal in the Netherlands.

How Blu Eye installation works

The quality of the system stands or falls with the installation. The antenna determines reception and must be placed out of sight yet free from shielding. The module goes behind the dashboard, power comes from a fuse holder. For the display there are two options: a discreet position in the dashboard or integration into the rear-view mirror. With Mirror Integration a mirror with a built-in display replaces the original rear-view mirror; without an alert the difference is not visible. The full method is set out in the step-by-step plan above. After installation no cable is visible.

Who it is for

Target Blu Eye is intended for owners who drive a great deal and want to know in good time what is happening around them. Think of a Porsche 911 or Audi RS 6 on the motorway, or an Aston Martin on the Veluwe. Owners of BMW M and Ferrari also often choose the system in combination with a dashcam, as both share the same cable route. We install for clients from Gelderland, Overijssel, Flevoland and Utrecht. Anyone who regularly drives to Germany or Belgium receives advice in advance on the regulations there.

What does Target Blu Eye installation cost?

Target Blu Eye 2 including professional installation costs from € 1,799 incl. VAT. Blu Eye Mirror Integration, with the display in the rear-view mirror, costs from € 1,999 incl. VAT. The pricing page lists all starting prices of GT Exclusive, including combinations with GPS tracking.

Warranty

Target Blu Eye 2 and Mirror Integration carry two separate warranties. Target provides the manufacturer’s warranty on the system, according to its own conditions and after registration. GT Exclusive provides the installation warranty on the installation: wiring, connections, antenna position and mounting. In the event of a fault we first establish the cause and then arrange the appropriate handling. How the two warranties relate is explained on the page about The GT Exclusive Standard.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Final prices and warranty terms follow after inspection of the car.

What does Target Blu Eye installation cost?

Target Blu Eye 2 including professional installation costs from € 1,799 incl. VAT. Blu Eye Mirror Integration, with the display in the rear-view mirror, costs from € 1,999. These are indicative consumer prices; the final price depends on the model and the preferred display position.

Is Target Blu Eye legal in the Netherlands?

Yes. The system only detects the presence of TETRA/C2000 communication and neither decrypts nor listens to anything. Under Dutch law it therefore does not fall under the ban on eavesdropping equipment or radar detectors. Abroad, legislation differs per country; we advise checking this in advance.

Does Blu Eye eavesdrop on police conversations?

No. C2000 communication is encrypted and Target Blu Eye 2 has no function to decrypt it. The system only registers that an emergency service is actively communicating in the vicinity and gives an alert. What is being said remains unknown.

What is the difference between Blu Eye 2 and Mirror Integration?

The technology is identical. With Target Blu Eye 2 a discreet display is fitted at a chosen position, from € 1,799. With Blu Eye Mirror Integration the display is built into the rear-view mirror and only visible during an alert, from € 1,999. Mirror Integration is the most invisible option.

Can Target Blu Eye be fitted in a Porsche or Ferrari without visible cables?

Yes. We remove the necessary interior parts, route the wiring behind the trim and use existing grommets. The antenna is given a hidden position with good reception. After installation only the display is visible, or with Mirror Integration not even that.

How long does Target Blu Eye installation take?

A standard installation is usually completed within 1 working day. Mirror Integration or a combination with a dashcam or GPS tracker may take 1 to 2 working days. The lead time is set out in the quotation in advance.
